Sell I have been a poet for a long time now. I have had some of my poems published and have performed pieces on stage and in competitions. Poetry is a very intimate form of writing, which explains why so many poets are shy about putting their works on public display. Every generation and every culture has delivered startling poets; master craftspeople who can, with a single line, change your whole view of the world. These poets, usually after their deaths, become a kind of universal property; they belong to us all. I am nowhere near that good, but there are some poets who continue to inspire me. Chief amongst them would be William Shakespeare. But my favourite poem for inspiration is Elegy In A Country Churchyard by Thomas Grey. People everywhere will tell you that a poet cannot make money from their writing. If you choose to believe what people tell you, then you adopt their boundaries. There are numerous poetic opportunities in the world today, and the internet has taken away the borders between countries. The links on the left hand side will take you to some of my poetry. |
